Quortex Tune
Content substitution for monetization and personalization at scale
Quortex Tune enables broadcasters, Pay-TV operators, and streaming platforms to monetize streaming with dynamic ad insertion across SSAI and SGAI workflows, while enforcing complex distribution rights across live and on-demand services.
It is a powerful content substitution engine enabling dynamic ad insertion, sports blackout enforcement, and channel origination for streaming.
Built-in analytics provide visibility into ad impressions, fill rates, and revenue, helping identify monetization gaps and reduce inventory loss.

Every stream is a revenue opportunity or a missed one
During peak events and high-demand moments, monetization systems are pushed to their limits.
But instead of maximizing revenue, many platforms experience dropped ad requests, limited fill rates, and restricted inventory due to technical and rights constraints.
Key monetization challenges
Revenue breaks
under peak demand
When audiences surge, ad decisioning and content substitution systems can’t keep up, leaving premium inventory unfilled at the most critical moments.
Rights constraints
block monetization
Without precise blackout and regional control, inventory is lost or exposed to compliance risk.
Operational complexity
limits monetization
Limited visibility into ad delivery and content substitution workflows makes it difficult to identify failures, troubleshoot issues, and recover lost revenue in real time.
Lower fill rates. Missed revenue. Limited control.
Quortex Tune turns monetization challenges into revenue opportunities
Maximize streaming monetization. Maintain full control.
From ad decisioning to rights enforcement, Quortex Tune gives you full insight and control over how every stream is monetized
Maximize ad revenue at any scale
Increase ad fill rates and reduce revenue loss.
Quortex Tune delivers targeted advertising across live and on-demand streaming using server-side ad insertion.
It combines ad decisioning optimization and content substitution to maintain high fill rates during peak events, reducing unserved ad impressions and maximizing monetization.
Ad prefetching prepares decisions ahead of breaks, smoothing request loads and ensuring consistent ad delivery at high concurrency.
Enforce distribution rights
Ensure compliance with complex rights agreements
Quortex Tune manages complex distribution rules automatically across live and on-demand services.
It enables blackout enforcement and alternate content substitution based on geography, device type, or contractual policies.
This ensures compliance with sports rights agreements and avoids contractual penalties without adding complexity to the workflow.
Eliminate the black box
Gain full visibility and control over monetization
Quortex Tune provides operational and business insights across the monetization chain.
It enables teams to detect failures, understand revenue loss, and act in real time.
Metrics such as ad insertion success rates, ad server timeouts, and inventory loss reveal where monetization breaks down and how to optimize performance.
Core capabilities
Dynamic ad insertion
Stitch personalized ads into live and VOD streams at the individual viewer level via server-side manifest manipulation. Quortex Tune supports HLS TS, HLS CMAF, and DASH CMAF workflows, with proven integrations with Google Ad Manager and Freewheel, and broad compatibility with any VAST 3.0/4.2 or VMAP 1.1 compliant ad server.
Ad revenue optimization
Maximize fill rates at peak concurrency through SCTE-35-aware prefetching, which spreads ad requests over time to prevent decisioning timeouts during audience surges. Automated ad transcoding eliminates creative miss as a source of inventory loss — for both direct and programmatic campaigns.
Blackout and rights enforcement
Enforce content distribution rights in real time based on location, device type, and audience targeting criteria. Quortex Tune integrates with POIS systems via SCTE-224/SCTE-250 and proprietary interfaces and prioritizes blackout enforcement over other substitution workflows when rules conflict. .
Advanced routing and ad beaconing
Configure multi-placement routing rules by device, geography, and inventory type to serve the right experience to every audience segment. Flexible beaconing supports both client-side tracking via in-manifest signals and server-side tracking for devices without reporting capability.
Operational insights and observability
Move beyond fill rate dashboards with session-level logs, infrastructure success rate monitoring, and ad inventory loss analysis by cause — ADS timeout, creative miss, codec mismatch. Built for operations teams that need to diagnose failures fast and quantify revenue impact accurately.
Flexible deployment
Run Quortex Tune in your private cloud, on any major public cloud provider, or as a managed service — deploying and scaling only the modules you need thanks to its modular architecture.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is server‑side ad insertion (SSAI)?
Server-Side Ad Insertion (SSAI) dynamically stitches advertisements directly into the video stream before delivery, enabling personalised ad experiences at the individual viewer level. Because ads are baked into the delivered content, SSAI is resilient to client-side ad blockers and ensures a seamless viewing experience with no buffering or “wheeling” effect during playback.
Do you support SGAI (Server-Guided Ad Insertion)?
SGAI is an evolution of SSAI where ad resolution is handled by Quortex Tune and stitching is delegated to the client device. Quortex Tune currently supports HLS Interstitials, Apple’s SGAI implementation for HLS workflows. Support for DASH-based SGAI using the Alternate MPD event mechanism, as defined in MPEG-DASH 6th edition, is ongoing and will be announced in 2026.
What are the Ad Servers Quortex Tune is integrated with?
With proven integrations with leading ad servers including Google Ad Manager and Freewheel MRM, Quortex Tune can integrate with any ad server compliant with VAST or VMAP standards.
How do you handle ad beacons?
Ad beacons — also referred to as ad tracking events or quartiles — are proof-of-play signals measuring ad viewing completion and used by ad servers for billing and campaign pacing. They can be fired directly by the client device (client-side beaconing), which provides higher measurement accuracy, or by the DAI system on behalf of the device (server-side beaconing) when the end device lacks reporting capability. Quortex Tune supports both approaches, giving operators and streaming platforms the flexibility to match their beaconing strategy to their device ecosystem.
How does Quortex Tune scale for live events?
Live sports events are the ultimate stress test for DAI infrastructure — massive concurrent audiences, strict ad pod timing, and zero tolerance for failure. Quortex Tune addresses this through prefetch-aware ad resolution, intercepting the SCTE-35 ad break signal via the ESAM interface ahead of the pod delivery window. This lead time — typically 4 seconds or more — allows Quortex Tune to resolve wrapper chains, evaluate fallback creatives, and complete auction decisioning before the break fires, minimizing ad insertion drops at peak concurrency
Can Quortex Tune enforce blackout rules?
Blackout management or alternate content switching relies on the same technology foundation: manifest manipulation, but with distinct trigger signals and decisioning endpoint (POIS versus ADS). Quortex Tune supports the provisioning of live sport blackout restrictions via the ESNI SCTE-224 interface or proprietary formats such as Disney-PCC. Upon signal and audience match, Quortex Tune replaces content with alternate programming or blackout slate.
